Customer Service Statement Regarding Cable Modem Upgrades & IP Restrictions

FPB's new Residential and Business Cable Modem Packages restrict the number of IPs to only 1 Dynapic IP by default. If you have multiple devices* attached to your cable modem, you will have to use a Router or Firewall** (wired or wireless) to supply them all with Internet access***.

*Multiple Devices = examples: 1 PC using Ethernet & 1 PC using USB; 2 PCs on a network switch, or a PC & game console or web cam, etc.
**Router or Firewall = these will allow multiple devices to connect through 1 IP address -- network hubs or switches do not quality.
***Internet Access = if you switch devices atttached to the cable modem, you will need to power cycle (reboot) the modem afterward.

NOTE: Additional IPs can be purchased for $10 each per month. If you contact Tech Support, you may be required to bypass your router or firewall to fully troubleshoot your issue. FPB does not support home networking devices. While FPB's new multi-megabit packages are very fast, some older cable modems may have trouble achieving their full bandwidth potential. If you experience this, you may need to consider new equipment.

Note: if you prefer to keep your current 128k, 256k or 512k connection, simply do nothing - you will not be required to upgrade to the new speeds. All prices/services listed are for residential only. E-mail address selections subject to availability. Requirements for FPB Broadband DOCSIS version 1.1 or higher cable modem (DOCSIS 2.0 or 3.0 required for 20Mbps). Windows XP/2000 (Ethernet or USB port) OR Macintosh OS9 or higher (Ethernet only). Windows 98 & ME are no longer supported. Limited service area.
