New Channels Added To Cable Lineup

FPB cable has added 39 high definition channels to the cable lineup. Several networks have made their first appearance on FPB cable. MSNBC SD/HD will be added to the Classic Tier. New to the Preferred Tier are: Chiller SD, Big 10 Network SD/HD, NFL Network SD/HD, Hallmark Movie Channel SD/HD, and returning to FPB cable after a two year absence, is RFD SD/HD. New programming for the HD Plus Tier includes: Smithsonian HD, Palladia HD and NFL Red Zone HD which will only be available on Sunday during the NFL season.

As part of the upgrade, a new numbering system for channels has taken effect. Standard definition channels will retain their current numbering system while the HD version of the channel will have a comparable number in the 500 series. For example, WLEX on channel 07 will have its HD version on channel 507. CNN on channel 29 will have its HD version on channel 529. In order to receive encrypted HD programming such as CNN HD, customers need an HD advanced set top or a cable card.

For customer convenience, MSNBC will be placed in the channel lineup adjacent to other news networks on channel 32. The Weather Channel will move to channel 33, ESPN will move to channel 34, ESPN2 will move to channel 35, ESPN Classic will move to channel 36, and the Outdoor Channel will move to channel 76.

FPB is pleased to be able to bring the total number of HD channels to 68 and more are coming in the future. All these changes are possible as the result of the recently concluded analog to digital conversion which reclaimed much bandwidth in order to offer the new HD services. FPB has exciting plans for the future as we continually work to provide our customers with the cable services they want at the best price possible. To view the new channel lineup, click here. The new listing for QAM tuners is here.
